General Facts

The root of the word ‘Basmati’ lays in two hindi words; “Bas” implying Aroma and “Mati” meaning Full of, hence the connotation on "Full Of Aroma".

Traditional Basmati has the best aroma in the India rice family, whether it is raw or cooked rice. Basmati is longer, lighter and fluffier than standard white rice and does not stick together.

Cultivated once a year in the pristine Indo-Gangetic Plain beneath the Himalayan sub ranges, the natural environment with alluvial soil, fresh mountain water and ideal temperature produces the finest quality Basmati rice with a low GI of 51.

From June to November, the farmers cultivate their basmati crops through its 155 days crop cycle. The work starts with the preparation, nursery planting, the transplanting of sapling into the fields which is followed by weeding and finally harvesting and threshing.

The unique geographical and climatic conditions bring out the true flavor and nature of basmati, making it unique and incomparable to any other varieties of rice.
